Domain Rating checker

Check any website's Domain Rating (DR) for free. See how strong its backlink profile is on a 0–100 scale and what that means for ranking.

Domain Rating (DR) is Ahrefs' score for how strong a website's backlink profile is, on a scale from 0 to 100. It is based on how many unique websites link to a domain and how strong those linking sites are themselves.

Enter any domain to see its DR. Use it to size up a link-building opportunity, compare yourself with competitors, or check whether a directory is worth submitting to.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Enter a domain

Type a domain like example.com or paste any URL. We only use the domain.

  2. Step 2

    We look up the DR

The score comes from Ahrefs' free Domain Rating data and is cached for a day.

  3. Step 3

    Read what it means

See where the score sits, from a new site to a top authority, and what usually moves it.

FAQ

What is a good Domain Rating?
It depends on your niche. Under 20 is typical for new sites, 20–40 is established, 40–60 is strong, and 60+ is a well-known authority. Compare yourself with the sites that rank for your keywords.
How do I increase my Domain Rating?
Earn links from more unique websites, especially ones that have a high DR themselves. Directory listings, guest posts, digital PR and tools people link to all help.
Is Domain Rating a Google ranking factor?
No. DR is an Ahrefs metric. It correlates with rankings because both depend on backlinks, but Google does not use it.
What is the difference between DR and DA?
Both score backlink strength from 0 to 100. DR comes from Ahrefs and DA (Domain Authority) from Moz, so the same site usually gets different numbers.
